KITCHENS

The homeowners of this rancher in North Vancouver wanted a modern style with easy to clean surfaces and unclutterd open space.  We removed the ancient oak cabinetry and installed horizontal "teak" veneer.  The classic white quartz countertops are very easy to clean and are key to a bright and functional kitchen.  The large glass backsplash sparkles and protects without adding another stone or tile texture and makes for easy cleaning.

Efficient use of space allows for relatively few wall cabinets making for a more open and spacious feel.  The wall of tall pantry cabinets goes to the ceiling instead of having a dust collecting 12" at the top as in "before".  These tall cabinets have full extension pullouts and store a remarkably large and easily accessible collection of tableware and dry-goods.

The floor is electrically heated large format tile.  Heated floors are very energy efficient.  You feel warm when your feet are warm, even in bare feet, allowing you to turn down the furnace!

This townhouse had its original 70's kitchen.  The room was cramped, dark and closed off from the main floor.  We removed a structural wall and opened up a beautiful spacious view allowing light to pour in from the back garden.

Very large format "marble" tile and and gorgeous green glass and stone mosaic backsplash create a bright and colourful environment for cooking and entertaining.  Painted white cabinetry maintains simplicity.  Easy to maintain quartz countertops and a live-edge bar-top add more natural colours and textures with room for casual seating.

We re-oriented the main sink and added a second bar sink making the space far more functional for the two cooks in the house.

This small home in the Cambie village had its original kitchen. The owner of the house is an avid baker and a retail professional with a growing family.
The kitchen had to be highly functional and very pleasing to the eye.

We started the design using a few of the owner’s favourite pictures from magazines which helped set the tone for the white painted cabinetry. The door style and crown moulding details followed. We engaged an interior designer on an hourly basis who chose the marble backsplash and dark tile floor.

This single family home had a cramped and dated kitchen in the rear of the house. We were able to remove space from the attic and raise the kitchen ceiling, creating an airy, light-filled cooking and gathering area with open access to the adjacent dining room.

The existing kitchen went from being incredibly awkward to spacious and well organized. We installed folding doors that lead to a spacious deck, allowing for uninterrupted flow from indoor to outdoor entertaining. Hardwood floors were added to the kitchen and we refinished the existing maple hardwood throughout the rest of the house. Lastly, a fresh coat of paint was applied, and the popcorn ceilings on the main floor were all made smooth.
